Glass Fusing Basics

Learn how to cut and handle glass safely, get creative with a new medium, and have fun with a small group of others!
day 1
Apr 15Participants will learn glass cutting, slumping, fusing, how to use tools including a kiln, work flow & process, creative process & design techniques, and how to make a variety of different glass fused objects. At the end of the day, the glass objects will be placed in the kiln for the overnight firing process.
day 2
Apr 16The oven will be opened and everyone's glass projects will be revealed! This can be an exciting yet tense moment due to the fragility of the glass. Things can always go wrong, but this offers participants an opportunity to learn more about firing with the kiln, how different fusing styles work, and how to fix and move on from errors.
